The legendary R&B group also gave the country star a special on-stage birthday celebration in Las Vegas for her 59th birthday.
Shania Twain received a memorable birthday surprise when Boyz II Men took the stage with her in Las Vegas. On Thursday, August 29, Twain celebrated her 59th birthday (which was actually on August 28) during her residency show by inviting the renowned R&B group to perform alongside her. In a video posted on Twain’s X (formerly Twitter) account, fans can be heard cheering as Shawn Stockman, Nate Morris, and Wanya Morris joined her for renditions of her 1997 hit “You’re Still the One” and Boyz II Men’s classic “I’ll Make Love to You.”
Before leaving the stage, the group also surprised Twain with a birthday cake and an impromptu “Happy Birthday” performance, involving the crowd in the celebration as she blew out her candles.
“Happy birthday,” the trio said to Twain. “We genuinely appreciate you inviting us onto your beautiful stage.”
Twain later expressed her gratitude on X, sharing, “As a little birthday celebration and surprise for my fans, I invited @BoyzIIMen to join me on stage at my Vegas show last night. But what I didn’t expect was them, @LiveNationVegas, and @CaesarsEnt surprising me with a cake!! 🥰”
She continued, “Can you believe I hate being the center of attention despite my career?! 😂 Thank you to my husband, Boyz II Men, my amazing crew, everyone at @PHVegas @PHLiveVegas, and of course, my wonderful fans for celebrating with me. I’m feeling very loved ❤️.”
Twain also received birthday wishes on her actual birthday. On Wednesday, her husband, Frédéric Thiébaud, shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. The 54-year-old businessman posted a photo of the couple enjoying a joyful moment together on a boat, accompanied by a birthday message.
“Happy birthday to this amazing human being @shaniatwain 😍🥳🎈🍰,” he wrote.
On Wednesday, Twain also shared a birthday message on Instagram, posting a video featuring various clips from her residency set to “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!”
“Today is my birthday and I’m feeling like a badass queen!” she captioned the heartfelt video. “Thank you for all the love and birthday messages, I love you guys!” she added. “AND I can’t wait to celebrate with you all in Vegas this week 🥰 Who’s coming out to a show? Let’s go totally crazy and have a s— kicking time!! 💥🥳.”
Twain began her “Come on Over” residency in May, marking her third Las Vegas residency. The shows are scheduled to continue until December at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood.
