McCreery shared that working on the video with one of his longtime favorite bands felt like the “perfect day.”

Scotty McCreery joined forces with Hootie & The Blowfish to bring their high-energy summer anthem, “Bottle Rockets,” to life in a carefree, sun-soaked music video.
Shot on Isle of Palms, just outside of Charleston, South Carolina, the video captures the band and McCreery basking in the coastal sunshine, strumming guitars, and trading vocals around a beachside fire as waves crash in the background. As the day winds down, the good vibes carry into the night, ending with bottle rockets lighting up the sky.
Directed by McCreery’s longtime collaborator Jeff Ray and produced by Kelsey Pribilski-Ray, the visuals mirror the track’s upbeat, feel-good spirit.
“Hanging out on the beach with Hootie & The Blowfish, one of my favorite bands of all time, and filming the video for ‘Bottle Rockets’ was just a perfect day for me,” McCreery shared. “Darius, Mark, Dean, and Soni are not only talented, but just great guys. I’ve been so excited at all the success that ‘Bottle Rockets’ has had so far, and I’m glad we were able to get together and create this video for everyone.”
The North Carolina native sets the tone on “Bottle Rockets” with his signature baritone, while Hootie & The Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker layers in the band’s trademark harmonies — even weaving in lines from their classic hit “Hold My Hand.”
Together, McCreery and Rucker transport listeners to a time of carefree youth, capturing the rush of first love and the wide-open freedom that comes with turning 17 — a theme deeply rooted in both artists’ Carolina upbringing.
They sing: “Bottle rockets in the sky / Bare feet in the sand / Bonfire in her eyes / Cold beer in a can / Moonlight on the waves / Her kiss in the dark / The smile on her face when she’d make me break out my guitar and play / Hold my hand / Hold my hand.”
Produced by Frank Rogers, the track was co-written by McCreery, Rogers, Brent Anderson, Derek George, Jeremy Bussey, Monty Criswell, Bobby Hamrick, Rucker, Mark Bryan, Dean Felber, and Jim Sonefeld. Since its release, “Bottle Rockets” has quickly become a standout, climbing to #3 on both the Mediabase Country Airplay Chart and the Billboard Country Airplay Chart — making it the fastest-rising single of McCreery’s career so far.
