The Happy’s Place star told PEOPLE that she and her fiancé are creating “their own” holiday traditions this season.

Reba McEntire and Rex Linn are putting a personal touch on their holiday celebrations.
The Happy’s Place star, 70, told PEOPLE that she and her fiancé, 68, are creating new holiday traditions, as they currently don’t have any established routines. “For Thanksgiving, we’re planning a double feature at the movies followed by dinner out,” McEntire shared, confirming it’s a tradition they’re kicking off this November.
Speaking with PEOPLE at the Paley Honors Gala on November 10, the country music legend also shared another quirky tradition she and Linn enjoy earlier in the year. “On Valentine’s Day, we go to Sonic for hamburgers and tater tots. And then for Thanksgiving, we’re starting our new tradition,” she said, noting that she prefers “cozy nights in, no makeup, all that kind of stuff.”
McEntire, 70, and Linn, 69, first met in 1991 but began dating in 2020. She told Today that they’ve been “pretty much inseparable” since.
“I’ve never been loved by a man like Rex Linn. He’s incredibly tender-hearted, and I love him with all my heart. He’s a good guy, very bashful too,” McEntire said in her October cover story with PEOPLE.
She also described Linn’s proposal as a “complete surprise,” highlighting his perfect timing. “I was over the moon. I asked him, ‘When do you want to do this?’ He said, ‘Let’s enjoy the engagement.’ So we haven’t set a date yet; we’re just enjoying our time together,” she shared.
McEntire was previously married to Narvel Blackstock for 26 years before their 2015 divorce. Offering advice for those dealing with heartbreak, she said, “Take care of yourself and your heart, and stay open. I wasn’t looking for love at all—it just happened at the right time, in the right place. God’s timing is everything.”
Happy’s Place Season 2 premiered Friday, November 7, on NBC, with streaming available the next day on Peacock.
