Lainey Wilson demonstrated her professionalism when her pants split on stage at the Faster Horses Music Festival in Brooklyn, Mich., on July 20. Despite the mishap, she quickly changed into a new pair of pants and used the opportunity to make light-hearted jokes, which were captured in TikTok videos of the performance.
“Y’all just about got a real show,” she quipped about the incident. “A real show!”
Continuing with her performance, Wilson couldn’t resist commenting on the mishap. “You can’t make that up! I’d have never known had my people back here not seen it,” she said. “There’s a first time for everything, and I’m glad it was y’all that I split my pants wide open in front of.”
On July 21, Wilson continued to joke about the incident on Instagram. She shared a video of herself doing jump-squats in a pair of pants to test their durability, captioning it, “Adding this into my routine before a show so my britches don’t rip like they did last night at Faster Horses.”
In June, Wilson made a notable fashion statement during her performance on Today, donning a pair of black flared leather pants and a matching leather vest adorned with turquoise embroidery and fringe. The custom leather bell bottoms, designed by By The Namesake, were a variation of the label’s Louisa design.
