The country singer made a lighthearted comment, joking, “Hopefully you sat in y’all’s cars for a bit and drank some tequila.”

Lainey Wilson brought her “Bell Bottom Country” style to the desert stage at Stagecoach on Saturday, April 25, where she headlined the festival’s lineup.
The 33-year-old “Watermelon Moonshine” singer’s set was briefly delayed after strong winds led to a temporary evacuation of the festival grounds. Once the show got underway, Wilson thanked fans for their patience.
“Thank you so much for sticking out the wind,” she told the crowd, according to Billboard. “Hopefully you sat in y’all’s cars for a bit and drank some tequila.”
She added, “We came to Stagecoach to have a damn good time, and that’s what we gonna do.”
Her Stagecoach performance came shortly after the release of her Netflix documentary Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool, which explores both her rise in country music and her personal life, including her engagement to former NFL player Devlin “Duck” Hodges, who proposed in February 2025, as well as her experiences with mental health challenges.
In a recent PEOPLE cover story, Wilson reflected on her rapid success, saying, “Even 15 years in Nashville could not prepare me for the way my career exploded.” She added, “I mean, this is all I could have ever wanted and more.”
Ahead of Stagecoach, she also teased her headlining set in March, telling PEOPLE, “It is going to be really great, and we got some surprises,” and describing it as “an elevated show” featuring songs she hadn’t performed in a while.
Wilson released her album Whirlwind in 2024, which earned a nomination for Best Country Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. She also recently made her acting debut as Amy in Reminders of Him, the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2022 novel.
