“Keith has been an incredible supporter of our hospital,” says Meg Rush, MD, MMHC, president of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

This holiday season, Keith Urban is spreading cheer in a meaningful way.
Earlier this week, the 58-year-old country star visited Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville to spend time with patients and their families. During his visit, he led an acoustic sing-along and generously donated guitars to the hospital’s music therapy program.
Urban engaged with fans by answering questions, taking photos, and leading the sing-along at the hospital’s Seacrest Studios. Meg Rush, MD, MMHC, president of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, expressed the hospital staff’s deep appreciation for his visit.
“Keith has been a wonderful friend to our hospital through multiple visits over the years,” Rush added.
The guitars Urban donated will support the hospital’s music therapy program, where board-certified therapists use music to offer emotional support, manage pain and anxiety, help with developmental milestones, and promote overall well-being for children and families.
Rush also noted, “His thoughtful and generous gift of guitars to our Music Therapy Program will allow us to continue using music as a therapeutic tool to comfort and heal children during their hospital stay.”
Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital is recognized as one of the nation’s top children’s hospitals and the largest in the Southeast, according to its website. It is nationally ranked in 10 specialties, provides advanced NICU and emergency care, and collaborates with experts across Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The hospital also emphasizes pioneering research and innovations in pediatric care, bringing the latest treatments to its main facility and 22 affiliated clinics.
Recently, Urban performed his 1999 hit “Where the Blacktop Ends” at the 2025 CMA Awards alongside host Lainey Wilson, marking his first televised performance since his separation from Nicole Kidman this past summer. PEOPLE confirmed the couple’s split on September 29, with Kidman filing for divorce the following day after 19 years of marriage.
Following the conclusion of his High and Alive World Tour earlier this year, Urban is scheduled to perform in the Caribbean, the United States, Canada, and England in 2026.
