“It’s ridiculous. This is country music, folks,” he told the lively audience. “Take the night off if you want.”

After a brief but triumphant stint in Las Vegas last year, Blake Shelton has returned to Sin City for another residency run.
On Thursday, Jan. 15, the country superstar kicked off his show at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum, immediately energizing the crowd by performing “Pour Me Drink,” his collaboration with Post Malone that earned them a CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year.
Raising a dark cup, seemingly filled with a full cocktail, Shelton playfully shared his thoughts on Dry January.
“I hope you guys aren’t doing that no-drink January or whatever that is,” he said to the lively audience. “It’s stupid. This is country music, okay? Take the night off if you are.”
Last year, Shelton, 49, performed six shows in Vegas. This 2026 residency is longer, spanning multiple dates throughout January.
While much of the 90-minute show mirrors last year’s performance, the new run features fresh material, including “Stay Country or Die Tryin’,” his latest No. 1 single, which topped the charts earlier this week.
“This is the only time during this residency I can say this, but today we’re celebrating my 31st No. 1 song,” Shelton said before performing the track. “It’s right now. It’s freaking me out. That’s why I’m saying no-drink January is out—because I’m celebrating. This is my one chance.”
In addition to new releases like 2024’s “Texas,” Shelton delved into his catalog, performing early hits such as “Austin,” “She Wouldn’t Be Gone,” and “Some Beach.”
The stage design enhanced the show’s energy, with visuals synced to each song. Rivers flowed behind him during “God’s Country,” prison cells appeared for “Ol’ Red,” and bright signs lit up during “Neon Light.” A lone spotlight highlighted Shelton during a stripped-down rendition of 2013’s “Sure Be Cool If You Did.”
Shelton’s trademark humor shone through as he interacted with the audience, performing fan favorites like “Hillbilly Bone” and “Boys ‘Round Here.”
A sentimental moment arrived when he performed “Nobody But You” with his wife, Gwen Stefani, who appeared via prerecorded harmonies on the massive screen behind him.
Reflecting on the venue, Shelton called the showroom his “big-ass living room.” “If there’s a song you want me to do, shout it out or write it down,” he said. “I’m literally here to play you what you want to hear.”
Even on a weekday, fans shouted requests, creating an electric atmosphere. “It’s never Thursdays in Las Vegas, only Saturdays,” Shelton joked with a grin.
