Country music artist Cody Johnson is bringing his family’s holiday traditions to country music enthusiasts with his inaugural Christmas special, “CMT Presents: A Cody Johnson Christmas.” Scheduled to air at 9 PM/8 PM Central on Wednesday, December 13, on CMT, the show features Johnson’s wife Brandi, daughters Clara and Cori, and his parents Sheila and Carl. Special guests Kevin Fowler and Roger Creager join the festive celebration, offering viewers a glimpse into a Texas cowboy Christmas.
The setlist for the Christmas special includes classic tunes such as “Away in a Manger,” “Christmas All Year Long,” “Felix Navidad,” “Hat Made of Mistletoe,” “If We Make It Through December,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” “Pretty Paper,” “Santa Claus is Back In Town,” “White Christmas,” and “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.”
“CMT Presents: A Cody Johnson Christmas” is helmed by Executive Producers Margaret Comeaux of CMT and Tom Forrest of Taillight TV. Jackie Barba and Heather D. Graffagnino serve as Executives in Charge of Production, while Leslie Fram takes on the role of Executive in Charge of Talent.
The Christmas special follows Cody Johnson’s recent surprise release of his third major label studio album, “Leather,” which came out last month. Reflecting on Johnson’s current personal and creative phase, producer Trent Willmon and engineer Jack Clark, along with his Warner Music Nashville team, were pleasantly surprised by the unexpected album release. Johnson hinted at the future, stating, “This is where Cody Johnson is in his life personally and creatively. Now, next year, you’re going to get the second half, and it’s going to be the deluxe edition. We’ll talk about that Cody then.”
