As the “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” singer turned 59 on Wednesday, August 28, Frédéric Thiébaud, her husband of over a decade, posted a heartfelt birthday tribute on Instagram.
The Swiss businessman, 54, shared a photo of the couple smiling and snuggling on a boat, accompanied by a sweet message: “Happy birthday to this amazing human being @shaniatwain 😍🥳🎈🍰.”
In response, Twain expressed her affection with a series of heart emojis, commenting: “❤️❤️❤️.”
On her own Instagram account, the “You’re Still The One” singer posted a birthday message of her own.
Accompanying a compilation of clips from her Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood’s Bakkt Theater—set to “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!”—the singer wrote, “Today is my birthday and I’m feeling like a badass queen!”
She added, “Thank you for all the love and birthday messages, I love you guys!” Twain also expressed her excitement for her upcoming shows, saying, “AND I can’t wait to celebrate with you all in Vegas this week 🥰 Who’s coming out to a show? Let’s go totally crazy and have a s— kicking time!! 💥🥳.”
Twain and Thiébaud, who often shares heartfelt tributes to her and her career on social media, had known each other for years before they began dating. Their relationship started after their previous spouses—Robert “Mutt” Lange and Marie-Anne—reportedly had an affair.
In May 2011, shortly after they married, Twain shared with Redbook, “I got to observe Fred going through the same thing I was, and I admired how he handled it. That is where I fell in love with him, because he was so exemplary in every way.”
Reflecting on the unconventional beginnings of their relationship in 2020, Twain told AARP The Magazine, “It’s twisted. But so beautifully twisted.”
