Shania Twain showcased her rock prowess at the 2023 Austin City Limits Music Festival during the past weekend, making a surprise appearance alongside the Foo Fighters on Saturday night, October 7th.
Twain had just wrapped up her own performance of country hits at ACL Fest when Dave Grohl, the frontman of the Foo Fighters, invited her back to the stage. The two music icons delivered an electrifying rendition of the Foo Fighters’ mid-2000s smash hit, “Best of You.” Twain demonstrated her deep admiration for the band, passionately singing every word. According to Stereogum, their duet marked the penultimate song in the Foo Fighters’ set.
In a social media post recapping this memorable moment, Shania Twain described it as a “dream come true” and expressed her long-standing admiration for the Foo Fighters.
“The generosity and incredible coolness of all of you is remarkable. I’ve been a devoted rock fan since day one,” the singer continued. “My first band was a rock band, my initial major producer was one of the world’s most celebrated rock producers, and my son and I share a love for rocking out.”
She also discussed the swift dash from her own stage to join the Foo Fighters, emphasizing that all the logistical challenges were justified to create that special duet moment.
“Making that adrenaline-fueled sprint from my stage to yours, Dave Grohl, was absolutely worth it. You are a true friend and a remarkable talent,” Twain enthusiastically commented.
