Morgan Wallen’s extensive “One Night at a Time World Tour” has been crowned the best in country music! This tour, which has been recently extended, clinched the Concert Tour of 2023 award at the fan-driven People’s Choice Country Awards held on Thursday, September 28.
This lengthy tour originally began on March 15 and is set to continue into 2024, featuring several new dates and makeup shows. Wallen had to postpone several summer performances due to being placed on vocal rest.
Wallen’s devoted fanbase rallied behind him, propelling him to the top spot with their votes. In securing this award, he triumphed over a competitive field that included artists like Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Kenny Chesney, Luke Combs, Shania Twain, and Zach Bryan.
The night was a significant success for Wallen, with the most nominations and victories in multiple categories. He was also featured twice as a nominee in three separate categories. “Last Night” and “Thinkin’ ‘Bout Me” were both nominated for Song of 2023, while his collaborations with Ernest on “Cowgirls” and Hardy on “Red” earned nominations for Collaboration Song. Furthermore, his music videos for “Thought You Should Know” and “You Proof” were both contenders for Music Video of 2023.
In addition to these accolades, Wallen claimed the most prestigious honor of the evening—the People’s Artist award—and his “One Thing at a Time” project was named Album of 2023.
The inaugural People’s Choice Country Awards were held at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, on Thursday, September 28. The star-studded event, hosted by Little Big Town, was broadcast live on NBC and streamed on Peacock.
