The couple tied the knot in April 2024, only a few days after their engagement.
Morgan Wallen’s ex, Katie “KT” Smith, has announced her separation from her husband, Luke Scornavacco, after just nine months of marriage.
In an Instagram Stories post on Tuesday, January 14, the 30-year-old social media influencer shared the news, acknowledging that many had been invested in their relationship due to their frequent posts together early on.
“As difficult as it is to share this, I know that a lot of you guys have been invested in our relationship since we used to post together a lot at the beginning of our relationship,” Smith wrote.
She added: “I wanted to give you an update… especially since we’ve both been hounded with questions. And that’s totally understandable. Luke and I have decided to separate.”
Smith went on to share that she would be keeping the specifics of their split private.
“We won’t be sharing about it, because there truly isn’t much to share. We both have to do what’s best for us, as well as Indigo, while he’s still as young as he is,” she explained, referring to her 4-year-old son, Indigo, whom she shares with Morgan Wallen. The couple dated on and off from 2016 to 2019.
Smith added that there was “nothing but love on both sides” and emphasized that neither of them had done anything “wrong.”
“We just haven’t worked out in a while, and we both need to be the best version of ourselves,” she said, noting that they would continue to “root each other on from a distance.”
In March 2024, the former couple shared their engagement news on Instagram, posting a series of photos from the proposal at Magnolia Farms in Eagleville, Tenn. Smith wore a long white dress and stood under a floral arch as her then-fiancé knelt before her, holding a ring box.
Additional photos included the couple with family members, including Smith’s son, and a close-up of her square-shaped diamond engagement ring.
Smith captioned the post, “Why save the good things for later ❤️🔥.”
In April 2024, Smith and Scornavacco shared a video capturing the romantic proposal, with the caption, “03/29/24: when dreams turned to reality ✨.” They also gave a shout-out to jewelry brand Brilliant Earth for providing the stunning engagement ring, adding, “for leveling up what we ever thought a dream ring could be 🫶🏼.”
Just days before Morgan Wallen’s arrest on April 7, when he allegedly threw a chair off the roof of a Nashville bar, Smith and Scornavacco tied the knot. They surprised their followers with a joint Instagram post, featuring a series of photos that appeared to be from an engagement shoot. Smith teased “swipe for a surprise” in the caption, leading to an additional image not part of the set. This final photo was a selfie of the couple holding their marriage certificate from the Wilson County Clerk’s Office in Tennessee.
