Country music fans’ anticipation has been met with excitement as Morgan Wallen and Post Malone released their long-awaited collaborative single, “I Had Some Help,” on Friday, May 10. The artists had been teasing the release on social media for weeks. Additionally, an official music video for the song is set to premiere at 10 a.m. ET on the same day, adding to the excitement surrounding this anticipated collaboration.

Post Malone, aged 28, initially teased “I Had Some Help” with a brief 17-second clip on TikTok in April, sparking enthusiasm among fans who eagerly awaited the release of the single. The anticipation escalated when Malone joined Morgan Wallen, aged 30, during Wallen’s headline performance at Stagecoach, where they performed the song live for the first time.

The track features a seamless blend of country-pop elements, showcasing Wallen and Malone’s vocals as they sing about the emotions surrounding a breakup.

In the chorus of “I Had Some Help,” Wallen and Malone sing, “I had some help, it ain’t like I can make this kind of mess all by myself. Don’t act like you ain’t help me pull that bottle off the shelf.”

Following their electrifying Stagecoach performance, Wallen and Malone took to social media to announce the official release of the song, delighting their fans with the news.

Prior to the release of “I Had Some Help,” Post Malone made notable appearances in the country music scene. At the 2023 CMA Awards, he joined HARDY and Morgan Wallen to pay tribute to the late Joe Diffie with renditions of “John Deere Green” and “Pickup Man.”

Post Malone also had a standout performance at Stagecoach, where he showcased his love for country music by covering various songs and inviting country stars like Brad Paisley, Sara Evans, and Dwight Yoakam to join him on stage. Additionally, he is scheduled to perform at the ACM Awards on May 16.

According to Billboard, Post Malone confirmed during a Twitch livestream that he was working on a country record. He expressed excitement about a song he recorded while in Nashville, describing it as “so f—ing sick,” although it had not been released at the time of the report.

Morgan Wallen is currently embarking on his One Night at a Time World Tour, scheduled to continue through August.

Prior to the start of this leg of the tour, Wallen encountered legal issues when he was arrested in Nashville on felony charges for allegedly throwing a chair from a sixth-story bar. Following the incident, Wallen released a statement addressing the arrest on social media platform X.

“I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility,” he wrote. “I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no change.” Despite the legal incident, Wallen expressed his commitment to continuing his tour without interruption.

Following a hearing on Friday, May 3, Morgan Wallen’s lawyer, Worrick Robinson, appeared in court on his behalf.

After discussions among the judge and attorneys, it was decided that the case would continue in August. Speaking to reporters after the hearing, Robinson described it as a typical day in a criminal case in general sessions court in Davidson County.

Robinson emphasized that the case is complex and will involve subpoenas and witnesses. He outlined potential outcomes for the next court date on August 15, including a hearing, settlement discussions, or another continuance.

“We’re not required to enter a plea of any type,” Robinson added, highlighting the ongoing nature of the legal process.
