Morgan Wade Opens Up About Her Experience with Tourette Syndrome: “I Exhibit Unusual Facial Expressions, Noises, and Head Shaking, so I Encourage Understanding and Compassion Instead of Judgment.”

Country artist Morgan Wade took to social media on Thursday to share that she has Tourette syndrome.
In a concise and straightforward post, Wade revealed that if people notice her frequent head shaking, it is due to her diagnosis of Tourette’s syndrome.
Tourette syndrome, as described by the Mayo Clinic, is a disorder characterized by repetitive movements or unwanted sounds that are difficult to control.
Wade addressed both the genuine inquiries and trolling she encounters, emphasizing that she sometimes exhibits unusual facial expressions, noises, and head shaking due to her condition. She urged others to think before passing judgment, encouraging understanding and empathy.
Following Morgan Wade’s announcement about her Tourette syndrome, her comments section was flooded with supportive messages from fans. Wade expressed her gratitude for all the love she received.
She explained that her tics are not constant, but they can increase in intensity when she feels anxious, nervous, or upset. She also mentioned that sometimes the tics can occur without any specific trigger.
Wade clarified that during her performances on stage, her head tics are generally not visible due to her movement. However, she emphasized that the occurrence and duration of tics are unpredictable. She gave a shoutout to all those who live with and navigate their daily lives with Tourette syndrome, expressing her support and understanding.
Wade’s revelation comes shortly after Lewis Capaldi’s viral set at Glastonbury, during which his Tourette syndrome caused him to struggle with singing. The audience stepped in and sang the song for him, showing their support. Capaldi publicly disclosed his Tourette syndrome last year.
After his performance, Capaldi took the opportunity to thank the Glastonbury crowd and express his deep appreciation for the experience, stating that it meant the world to him. He acknowledged the challenges his condition presents and announced that he would be taking a break from touring to prioritize his mental and physical health.
