Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton Roll Into Retro Vibes with New Music Video

On Friday, Aug. 22, Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton unveiled a nostalgic, roller-rink–themed video for their soulful duet “A Song to Sing,” a track that channels the spirit of classic Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers collaborations.

Lambert, 41, and Stapleton, 47, announced the release with a joint Instagram post the same day, writing, “The ‘A Song to Sing’ video is here! We had such a blast skating around. Hope y’all love it! 🪩🛼”

Inside the Retro-Inspired “A Song to Sing” Video

Directed by Running Bear and produced by James Stratakis, the video opens with Lambert — known for “Wranglers” — and Stapleton — recognized for “White Horse” — standing in the parking lot of Brentwood Skate Center.

Once they step inside, the two take center stage at the rink, dressed in coordinating brown suits topped with feather-trimmed cowboy hats, with a glowing heart-shaped disco ball hanging above them.

As a nod to the song’s influences, the duo incorporated pieces from Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers’ personal collections: Lambert wears Parton’s gold clip-on hoops, while Stapleton sports Rogers’ lion-shaped necklace.

The video also highlights skaters lacing up their shoes and freshening up in the bathroom before cutting back to Lambert and Stapleton carrying guitars outdoors — joined by Stapleton’s wife Morgane, who dazzles in a gold lamé bodysuit.

Later, Morgane, 42, shows off playful dance moves on the rink, while Lambert struts with confidence and Stapleton delivers guitar riffs.

Released in July, “A Song to Sing” was written by Lambert, Stapleton, Jesse Frasure, and Jenee Fleenor, with production handled by Dave Cobb.

Lambert’s most recent album, Postcards from Texas (2024), leaned heavily into her country roots. Speaking with PEOPLE in May 2024, she shared, “I recorded this one in Texas, something I hadn’t done since I was 18. At Arlyn Studios in Austin, I got to work again with Jon Randall — my best friend, co-writer, and co-producer.”
