Luke Bryan is back with a fresh release, “Word on the Street,” a track that also inspired the title of his 2026 tour and draws on his small-town roots.
“It’s finally out! Hope you’re all enjoying it somewhere B.S. free in the middle of nowhere. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts,” Bryan shared in a recent Facebook post.
The song’s relaxed, country feel fits seamlessly into Bryan’s catalog and sets the tone for his upcoming summer shows. Written by Payton Smith, Josh Thompson, and Justin Ebach, “Word on the Street” explores a “B.S. free” mindset, focusing on steering clear of gossip and drama while embracing the calm of country living.
Throughout the track, Bryan sings about hearing rumors that an ex has moved on and the way people talk behind his back. Rather than getting caught up in speculation, he seeks the peace of open backroads, rivers, and pine forests—places free from judgment, prying questions, and idle chatter.
The chorus captures this sentiment perfectly:
“No rumors on the rollin’ river / No talk in them tall pine trees / Just the wind and a whippoorwill whisper / B.S. free in B.F.E. / I don’t wanna hear how your movin’ on’s movin’ since me / And backroads mind their own / So I don’t hear the word on the street,” Bryan sings.
Bryan shared that he was immediately drawn to the song’s clever lyrics and breezy, summer-ready vibe, which made it a natural choice to headline his tour.
“This felt like the perfect track to release right after naming my summer tour after it,” he said. “When I first heard the demo, I knew I had to record it. I loved the writers’ approach—it felt fresh. I can’t wait to perform it live for everyone!”
“Word on the Street” is the first new music Bryan is releasing this year, following his 32nd No. 1 hit, “Country Song Came On,” which topped the charts last summer.
Bryan’s 2026 headline tour will kick off with back-to-back shows on May 29 and 30 in Gilford, New Hampshire. Select dates will feature support from Drew Baldridge, Karley Scott Collins, Lanie Gardner, Randall King, Zach John King, Shane Profitt, Raelynn, Lauren Watkins, and Jake Worthington.
