In the new music video for his soulful track “Country Song Came On,” Luke Bryan expertly encapsulates the charm and nostalgia of a classic country song.
Shot in a rustic Nashville barn and directed by Kate Rentz, the video showcases Bryan at his best, delivering his Georgia-born vocals with ease. As the song progresses, the spotlight shifts from just Bryan to a room full of couples gently swaying to the heartfelt melody.
The distinct sounds of steel guitar and acoustic strings fill the barn, as Bryan portrays the magnetic pull of a country song and the spontaneous, carefree nights they often inspire.
The visual perfectly complements Luke Bryan’s minimalist storytelling style, with both the song and video focusing on the captivating allure of country music and its power to unite people.
“I was gonna drive by/ Wasn’t gonna stop/ Then my old truck found a front-row spot/ Gonna drop in, but I wasn’t gonna stay/ Then I heard a barstool calling my name/ Wasn’t gonna let the bar twist my arm/ But I’m helpless in a honky tonk/ Said I wasn’t gonna drink/ And then a country song came on,” Bryan sings in the chorus.
The five-time Entertainer of the Year’s video premiered on CMT, CMT MUSIC, and CMT Equal Play, and also debuted on the Paramount Times Square Billboard. Directed by Kate Rentz, the video was filmed in Nashville, Tennessee.
“Country Song Came On” was penned by Ryan Beaver, Dan Alley, and Neil Medley and is featured on Bryan’s Mind of a Country Boy album.
Titled after the song, Bryan’s 2025 headlining tour will kick off on May 29, with dates scheduled between two rounds of Farm Tour performances. The tour will be framed by Farm Tour events in California this spring and newly announced fall Farm Tour dates in September.
