“My heart is full, but my energy is drained,” the country singer shared in a Feb. 27 Instagram post.
Kelsea Ballerini is embracing some well-earned rest during her tour break.
On Thursday, Feb. 27, the 31-year-old country star took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the first half of her tour and her plans for the downtime.
“Seventeen shows in, and we’re halfway through,” Ballerini wrote. “Thank you for showing up with so much energy, for bringing the glitter and creative signs, and for keeping the shows safe and fun. We feel incredibly lucky to be performing for you—I still can’t believe we get to do this 19 more times.”
She continued, “My heart is full, but my tank is empty. I’m off to enjoy some chicken nuggets and take a much-needed nap before we hit the West Coast. I appreciate and adore you more than words can say. 🤍”
Along with her post, Ballerini shared a collection of images capturing moments from her tour. The photos included a close-up of her wearing glittery eyeshadow while looking at her iPhone, shots of her performing on stage, and a candid of her sitting onstage in sunglasses. Fans were also featured, holding up signs that read “Making Better Patterns” and “Made You Look.”
Additional snapshots showed a coloring book page displayed on her refrigerator, a Polaroid of her holding a microphone, a video of her rehearsing, and a nearly empty gas tank—perfectly reflecting her caption about needing rest.
During her Feb. 23 performance at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Fla., Kelsea Ballerini addressed the crowd after they directed insults toward her ex-husband, Morgan Evans.
While singing Penthouse—a song reflecting on the aftermath of a breakup—fans enthusiastically joined in on the emotional lyrics. However, after the line “you got half,” some in the audience screamed profanities aimed at Evans.
In fan-recorded TikTok footage, Ballerini briefly paused and responded, saying, “Guys, we have to stop saying that.”
Comments on the video suggested that fans had shouted obscenities during the pause, prompting her to step in and redirect the energy.
Ballerini continued addressing the crowd, adding, “Seriously, we’re three years past it, everything’s fine now.” The singer, who filed for divorce from Evans in August 2022 after nearly five years of marriage, made it clear she had moved on.
Her final tour stop before taking a break was on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
