Keith Urban is still experiencing career milestones, even after years of success in country music.
As he prepares for his 2025 High and Alive tour, which begins on May 22 in Alabama, the “Straight Line” singer revealed that this will be the first time he tours using a stage setup he’s previously used.
In an interview with his label, Universal Music, Urban explained, “One of the things we really benefited from this tour is the residency we did in Vegas, starting last October and wrapping up in February.”
He added, “We designed a high-end live production for that show, allowing us to experiment with the setup in Vegas and get a feel for how it would work on stage. It’s an opportunity we’ve never had before.”
How does this affect the upcoming tour for the “Somebody Like You” singer?
Urban shared, “It was almost like getting a sneak peek in front of a live audience for the tour, and it was great.”
This experience is expected to benefit Urban and his team, especially since they haven’t done a full tour in over three years. The residency likely helped them shake off any rust accumulated over the past 900+ days.
When Urban announced the new tour, he promised fans a mix of “lots of hits, new songs, things we won’t even think about until we’re on stage — and loads of guitar.”
Keith Urban has enjoyed a long and successful career, and his fans are well-acquainted with his inspiring journey. However, even his most devoted followers may not know all there is to learn about the country superstar.
Urban has often spoken about how his relationship with Nicole Kidman may have been a life-saving turning point. Shortly after their marriage, he entered rehab and came out a better, more content person. Kidman has expressed similar sentiments, sharing that she never imagined she’d find true love again after her divorce from Tom Cruise. She describes being in a lonely place before meeting Urban at G’Day L.A. in January 2005. But after a few dates, she was ready to open her heart to him.
“I never, ever take Keith or our love for granted,” Kidman told Yahoo!. “And I always keep in my mind that my dream is to grow very old with him.”
