Jelly Roll Takes the CMA Fest Stage Without His Wedding Band Following Divorce Filing from Bunnie Xo

According to court records obtained by PEOPLE, the country singer filed for divorce from his wife in Williamson County, Tennessee, on May 18.

Jelly Roll was recently seen performing without his wedding band shortly after initiating divorce proceedings from his wife, Bunnie Xo.

The 41-year-old artist reportedly filed for divorce in Williamson County, Tennessee on May 18, according to court documents reviewed by PEOPLE. Roughly two weeks later, he took the stage at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium during CMA Fest on June 6, where he appeared without his ring.

Although the “Save Me” singer was previously known for frequently wearing a black tungsten wedding band, he has not been seen wearing it publicly for some time, including during a February appearance alongside Bunnie, 46. One possible explanation is that his significant weight loss—reportedly around 300 pounds—may have caused the ring to no longer fit comfortably.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie’s relationship dates back over a decade after they met at one of his 2015 performances in Las Vegas. The couple became engaged the following year and later married in a courthouse ceremony the same night. In 2023, they reaffirmed their commitment by renewing their vows at the same chapel.

The singer, whose real name is Jason DeFord, is the father of two children, daughter Bailee, 18, and son Noah, 9, from previous relationships. Both he and Bunnie have previously spoken about her strong bond with his children and her role as a stepmother.

The pair also attended the 2026 Grammy Awards in February, where Jelly Roll won Best Contemporary Country Album. During his acceptance speech, he became emotional while thanking Bunnie, crediting her with helping transform his life.

“I want to thank my beautiful wife,” he said at the time. “I would have never changed my life without you. I would have ended up dead or in jail. I would have killed myself if it wasn’t for you and Jesus. I thank you for that.”

Over the years, the couple has been open about the challenges in their marriage. In her memoir Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, Bunnie revealed that Jelly had a 10-month affair in 2018. He later described the incident as one of the most difficult periods of his life but said he was proud of how far they have come since then.

More recently, the two have discussed their hopes of expanding their family, including struggles with IVF and the possibility of using a surrogate, as shared in Bunnie’s book.
