Jason Aldean Surprises Fans with Announcement of 11th Studio Album ‘HIGHWAY DESPERADO’ and Release of New Track “Let Your Boys Be Country”
Country music star Jason Aldean has taken fans by surprise by revealing his upcoming 11th studio album, titled ‘HIGHWAY DESPERADO.’ Alongside this exciting announcement, he dropped a fresh single, “Let Your Boys Be Country,” on Friday.
Scheduled for release on Friday, November 3, 2023, the album comprises 14 tracks. Following his successful double 10th studio album, ‘MACON, GEORGIA,’ which delivered hits like “Trouble with a Heartbreak” and the chart-topping duet “If I Didn’t Love You” featuring Carrie Underwood, Aldean continues his musical journey with ‘HIGHWAY DESPERADO.’
The album’s title is drawn from Aldean’s sold-out headlining arena tour and reflects his early experiences as a touring artist.
“When I reflect on my journey, I realize that I laid the foundation of my career through my live performances. I’ve been on the road touring since I was 18 years old. For us, touring is the most enjoyable aspect. Climbing on the bus, traveling from one town to another, delivering our shows, connecting with the fans – that’s what we cherish. The title for both the tour and the album was genuinely inspired by that experience,” he conveyed in a statement.
Aldean contributed to the creation of three tracks on ‘HIGHWAY DESPERADO,’ including the titular song. The album also boasts his Hot 100 chart-topping single and the present Top 10 Country radio hit, “Try That In A Small Town,” as well as the previously released “Tough Crowd.”
Today’s release, “Let Your Boys Be Country,” written by Jaron Boyer, Allison Veltz Cruz, and Micah Wilshire, encourages moms to allow their sons to embrace the rural lifestyle. In the chorus, Aldean sings:
“Let ’em ride round in trucks, Creating backroad noise, Let ’em hang out on Fridays, Unleash their wild with the boys, Let ’em venture into the cold woods, Clad in camo painted green, Yeah, let ’em Chase, Let ’em experience falls, For a small-town girl, Let everything within these county lines, Become his entire world, You want him to grow into someone he’s unreservedly proud to be, Moms, let your boys adopt the country way,”
