Garth Brooks Gets Emotional Sharing Gratitude for Wife Trisha Yearwood on the Kelly Clarkson Show
Approaching nearly 18 years of marriage, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood’s enduring love took center stage during a recent appearance on the Kelly Clarkson Show. When asked to reflect on what gratitude means to him, Brooks became visibly emotional as the conversation shifted to his profound appreciation for his wife.
Speaking about Yearwood, Brooks expressed, “As far as Miss Yearwood, I don’t know. You know, I’ve said this before — I found her in the past life, I’ll find her in the next. She makes it fun, you know? She makes it really fun.”
Kelly Clarkson praised the couple’s love, prompting Brooks to sit up in his seat with tears welling in his eyes. Jokingly, Clarkson scolded him for making her cry, but then playfully called attention to his own tears as he reached to wipe them away.
In addition to sharing his gratitude, Brooks revealed his hopes for his final day on Earth, expressing a desire for his three daughters and Yearwood to be by his side. He shared, “Just truthfully, if I could say, what I’d love to say is the day I take my last breath on this planet, I’d love for my three girls to be around me. And I’d love for the Queen to be around me.”
Garth Brooks’ profound love for his family and his appreciation for living in the present moment shine through. Despite his status as one of country music’s biggest stars, he remains thankful for each day.
“When it comes to the future — and I think it’s just what you’re grateful for — is just one more day, right, of getting to do this,” he reflects.
As he and Trisha Yearwood approach their 18th wedding anniversary on December 10, it’s a testament to their enduring relationship. The couple got engaged and married in 2005 after three years of dating. This marks Brooks’ second marriage and Yearwood’s third.
