Gabby Barrett is celebrating her growing girl gang with enthusiasm. The singer, who is currently expecting her third child, shared her excitement about welcoming a second daughter while speaking to People on the red carpet at the People’s Choice Country Awards on September 28th.
“My first child was a girl, the second was a boy, and now we’re expecting another girl,” Barrett joyfully stated. She expressed her love for raising daughters and revealed that she and her husband, Cade Foehner, are particularly thrilled about having another girl and her unique personality in their household as they embark on the next phase of parenthood.
Barrett and Foehner are already parents to their older daughter, Baylah, who will turn three in January, and their 11-month-old, Augustine Boone. Barrett mentioned that Baylah is at an age where she understands that a new baby is on the way.
“She always touches my belly, lays on it, and gives it kisses, which is incredibly sweet,” Barrett shared. “At two and a half, she comprehends everything and is eagerly looking forward to her new sister.”
Regarding their concerns about the upcoming addition to the family, Barrett pointed out that the most challenging aspect is typically the “loss of sleep” that comes with caring for a newborn.
“The biggest challenge of motherhood is the lack of sleep, as I believe any parent would attest to. And when you introduce another child into the mix, you need to recalibrate and reorganize everyone’s schedules,” she explained. “So it’s a matter of preparing for that initial loss of sleep, but you eventually regain it, so it’s all good.”
The Foehner family is anticipating the arrival of their newest member in February 2024. Additionally, Barrett has been hinting at her sophomore album, which features her two children in the music video for her latest song, “Glory Days.”
