“I powered through being sick in Tampa last night, and unfortunately woke up feeling way worse today,” the country star wrote hours before his Friday show.

Morgan Wallen, the 31-year-old country singer, announced on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, July 12, that he is postponing some of his upcoming shows due to illness. He shared the news just hours before his scheduled Tampa show at Raymond James Stadium, expressing regret at having to reschedule but explaining that he felt significantly worse after powering through his sickness the previous night in Tampa.

Wallen emphasized that continuing with his concerts wouldn’t allow him to perform at his best, so he decided to reschedule. He informed fans that the Tampa show would now be held on October 4, and the Charlotte shows scheduled for next week would take place on October 18 and 19.

Following Wallen’s announcement, Jelly Roll, who was set to perform at the Tampa show, assured fans on X that he was working on organizing an alternative event for them that night. He later confirmed a first-come, first-serve pop-up show specifically for ticketholders.

Morgan Wallen is currently on the extended 2024 leg of his One Night at a Time Tour, which supports his 2023 album of the same name. The tour features rotating supporting acts including Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Bailey Zimmerman, Jon Pardi, Nate Smith, Bryan Martin, Lauren Watkins, and Ella Langley.

Wallen announced the extension of the tour in September 2023 with a humorous teaser video starring football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning and his brother, fellow NFL star Eli Manning.

In light of his postponed shows, Morgan Wallen’s next performances are scheduled for two concerts in Arlington, Texas, on July 25 and 26 at the AT&T Stadium. His extended One Night at a Time Tour, which resumed on April 4 in Indianapolis, will conclude on August 9 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Wallen expressed excitement about continuing the tour and mentioned plans to release singles like “Cowgirls,” “Man Made a Bar,” and possibly “98 Braves.”
