Megan Moroney has released her latest album, Cloud 9.

Could one of Megan Moroney’s new songs be inspired by Riley Green?
On Friday, February 20, the “6 Months Later” singer released her latest album, Cloud 9, which includes the breakup anthem “Who Hurt You?” Fans had speculated last month that the track might reference the “You Look Like You Love Me” artist.
In the song, Moroney, 28, sings lines such as, “I was blinded by the lies / And the manufactured smile / The devil went down to Georgia / Then he crossed the ‘Bama line.” Later, she adds, “Hometown happy hours / The hand-delivered flowers / You looked me in the eyes and told me what was yours was ours.”
The lyrics appear to nod to Green’s home state of Alabama, where fans reportedly saw the pair together last May, as well as speculation that the “If It Wasn’t for Trucks” singer may have gotten veneers.
On the bridge, Moroney sings, “You said you needed less flashy, more fun / Oh, of course she’s twenty-one / On your arm through the bar,” which some interpret as referencing online chatter about Green, 37, being seen with younger women.
Last month, Moroney discussed with media personality Elaina Smith the rawness of “Who Hurt You?,” explaining that she laid everything out “bar for bar” to avoid having to answer questions about what she vaguely described as “the situation.”
She said, “Like you said, I’m pretty consistently vulnerable, but there’s one song, ‘Who Hurt You?’ that I’m really excited for. Bar for bar, didn’t lie, said everything so that I don’t have to answer interview questions about the situation. Here’s my piece, and there’s no reason to ask me any questions about it because I told you what I needed to say. Have you heard the song? There should be no further questions.”
Fans quickly speculated about the song’s inspiration. One TikTok user wrote, “Def about Riley !!!!!” while another joked, “Riley Green watching this,” alongside a Simpsons meme captioned, “I’m in danger.”
PEOPLE reached out to Green’s representatives for comment. Moroney and Green were linked in early 2025 after fans noticed them vacationing together on TikTok. By March, however, Green stated on the In the Blind podcast that he was “single.” Previously, he had been romantically linked to Ella Langley, with whom he’s released a couple of duets.
On Thursday, February 19, Moroney treated top Spotify listeners to an intimate Q&A and live performance at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, joined by Jessie Jo Dillon and Luke Laird. The event, hosted by former PEOPLE staffer Tomás Mier, featured live debuts of several Cloud 9 tracks, including the title track, “Medicine,” “Liars & Tigers & Bears,” and “Wedding Dress,” along with fan favorites “6 Months Later” and “Wish I Didn’t.”
