In his personal video invitation, Brad Paisley told Post Malone, “It’s gonna be the first of many appearances,” hinting at more collaborations and performances in the future.
Post Malone’s venture into country music has taken a significant step forward.
On Wednesday, July 31, the 29-year-old “Circles” singer received a personal invitation from country star Brad Paisley to perform at the Grand Ole Opry next month. The 51-year-old Paisley extended the invite via a video posted on the Opry’s official social media accounts, where he asked Malone a “special question.”
“Hey, Post. Brad here. What I’m about to ask is going to mean a lot to you, I think, knowing your respect for country music and the journey you’re on now as a hillbilly singer—something that will be huge and remarkable for both country music and yourself,” Paisley began.
Paisley continued, “Would you like to play the Opry? Come play it with me in August. This is a total invite, and I have a feeling it’s going to be the first of many appearances for you.”
He wrapped up the invitation by telling Malone, “Come experience what it’s like to play the show that started it all. You and I can jam together, and many of your friends will be there.”
Post Malone’s Grand Ole Opry debut is scheduled for August 14 at the iconic Opry House in Nashville. The event will feature performances from Opry members including Brad Paisley, newly inducted Lainey Wilson, and Vince Gill, as well as other country acts such as The War and Treaty, John Michael Montgomery, and more.
Post Malone’s move into country music has been gaining momentum since he announced his debut country album, F-1 Trillion, in June. The album includes his recent singles: “Guy for That” featuring Luke Combs, “Pour Me a Drink” with Blake Shelton, and “I Had Some Help,” a chart-topping collaboration with Morgan Wallen.
While details about other country stars featured on the album are still unknown, Brad Paisley mentioned on The Tonight Show in December 2023 that he had been in the studio with Malone, hinting at possible future collaborations.
During his appearance on The Tonight Show, Brad Paisley shared, “I worked with him a couple of nights. He’s amazing. I love him. He’s the greatest guy, and he loves country music. We’ll see if we do something. You never know.”
Earlier on Wednesday, Post Malone unveiled the tracklist for F-1 Trillion, confirming that he and Paisley do indeed have a collaboration on the album titled “Goes Without Saying.”
