After her major win, Moroney praised her supporters, calling them “the best fans in the world.”

Megan Moroney earned her first MTV Video Music Award on Sunday, winning Best Country for her track “Am Okay?” She also lit up the stage at New York’s UBS Arena with a performance of her latest single, “6 Months Later.”

The rising star was surprised with the iconic Moon Person statue on the red carpet before the CBS broadcast kicked off.

Accepting the fan-voted award with gratitude, the Georgia-born singer praised her supporters, saying she has “the best fans in the world.”

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight after her win, Moroney reflected on the moment with humor: “It’s amazing. I feel really at home. I have a song called ‘Man on the Moon’ on my album, Am I Okay?, so getting an actual Moon Man is way cooler than the HomeGoods one I got during a white elephant party last Christmas,” she joked.

At 27, Megan Moroney took the Extended Play Stage, where she gave a condensed rendition of “6 Months Later.”

“We’re bringing some pedal steel and real country music to this stage,” she said ahead of the performance. “My outfit is inspired by the Six Months Later cover, so I’m really excited. It’s just going to be fun — hopefully everyone will be singing along.”

Moroney stepped out in cowboy boots paired with a lavender-and-white gingham dress, fully embodying her signature emo cowgirl style.

Her set was part of a star-studded lineup that also featured Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, and J Balvin. In a standout moment, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry teamed up with Yungblud and Nuno Bettencourt to honor the late Ozzy Osbourne.
