The country artist dropped “Wish I Didn’t” on Friday, January 16.

Megan Moroney Takes Risks and Faces Injuries Filming ‘Wish I Didn’t’ Music Video

Megan Moroney embraced her daring side for her newest music video.

Following the release of her action-packed “Wish I Didn’t” video on Friday, January 16, the country singer joined a Stationhead livestream to talk with fans about filming — and revealed that the shoot left her with a few battle scars.

“Guys, the bruises on my knees after the fight scene… It was wild,” she said, according to fan-recorded footage from the livestream. “My knees were black by the end of the day, and we only did it twice because I was completely wiped out.”

She added, “We had a stunt coordinator and everything. I need to show you the plate getting smashed over my head. Yeah, I probably had a concussion from it, but that’s what you do for a music video.”

The video, inspired by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, features Dylan Efron as Moroney’s co-star.

A press release described the plot as showing Moroney and Efron portraying “a seemingly perfect married couple living secret double lives as competing assassins.”

Continuing the story from Moroney’s Cloud 9 tracklist reveal, the video includes intimate moments of the pair as a married couple while secretly working as spies. The climax sees them engaged in a chaotic dinner table fight, tossing each other around and smashing items on one another’s heads.

Efron shared behind-the-scenes clips on Instagram, including footage of Moroney tackling him and rolling over a couch mid-fight, captioning the post: “she does her own stunts.”

“Wish I Didn’t” is the latest single from Moroney’s upcoming album Cloud 9.

In a PEOPLE StyleWatch digital cover story last November, Moroney said she had never been “this excited about an album release.” She described Cloud 9 as “written from a perspective where my feet are really planted,” highlighting a sense of confidence and groundedness in her latest work.
