In June 2023, the country star teamed up with Lauren Alaina to release their song “Thicc as Thieves.”
Lainey Wilson had a playful answer when comedian Leanne Morgan complimented her figure.
In a video shared on Morgan’s TikTok earlier this month, Morgan praised the country star for having an adorable figure while the two chatted as they rode around on a golf cart. Wilson, 34, responded by revealing that she had been putting extra effort into her workouts.
“I hope you receive me as a 60-year-old woman,” Morgan said to Wilson during the conversation.
The “Watermelon Moonshine” singer explained that she had been focusing on squats because she wanted to regain some of the curves she felt she had lost.
Morgan reassured Wilson that she had successfully gotten her curves back before joking that men appreciate a good “fanny.”
The comedian then quipped that having a great backside had helped her attract men who came with health insurance.
The footage was taken from an episode featured in the latest season of Morgan’s Netflix series, Leanne.
Wilson has previously spoken openly about the attention her figure has received online. In December 2023, she discussed the unexpected viral reaction to videos of her on TikTok with ET Canada.
Fans had previously taken notice after footage captured Wilson from the side while she was performing, leading to plenty of online discussion about her backside. Rather than being embarrassed by the attention, Wilson decided to embrace the unexpected publicity.
During the interview, Wilson acknowledged that her backside had become a viral topic on TikTok and joked about the amount of attention it was receiving.
She explained that the unexpected internet phenomenon had introduced her music to people who might not otherwise have discovered it. Wilson also referenced Dolly Parton when describing her approach to handling the situation.
When the interviewer praised Wilson for confidently embracing the attention, the singer agreed and said she intended to continue owning it.
Wilson joked that she had spent years working on her music, so anyone who discovered her because of her viral moment—or because they genuinely liked her songs—was welcome.
She had addressed the phenomenon even earlier, in December 2022, when she posted a video on social media reacting to the frequency with which her backside appeared on her TikTok “For You” page.
At the time, Wilson humorously acknowledged that her figure had become part of the platform’s trending content before encouraging viewers to check out her album, Bell Bottom Country.
Her message was simple: however people happened to discover her, she was happy they had arrived and hoped they would stick around for the music.
