By Website Content Manager

Rucker says, “it’s the biggest thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Today (December 4), chart-topping country star Darius Rucker received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, describing the milestone as “the biggest thing that’s ever happened to [him],” despite winning three GRAMMY Awards, being inducted into the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame, and more throughout his time in the industry.

Darius Rucker has had quite an illustrious career, rising to stardom as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the GRAMMY-Award-winning band Hootie & the Blowfish, which he started in 1986 with a few of his fellow students during their time at the University of South Carolina. Since their debut, the band sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, including Cracked Rear View, which is one of the top ten best-selling studio albums to date.

After nearly two decades in Hootie & the Blowfish, Rucker began his solo career, ultimately becoming one of the most recognizable figures within the industry, releasing country classics like “Wagon Wheel” as a part of his endeavor as a solo artist.
