At the beginning of the year, Shelton shared that the inspiration to have Buffett compose the theme for “Barmageddon” stemmed from his initial contact with Buffett regarding permission to perform “Margaritaville” in an episode of the game show. Buffett’s positive response to the name of Shelton’s TV series was the catalyst for Shelton’s decision to further engage Buffett in the project, seizing the opportunity to collaborate.
As per a statement posted on his official website, Jimmy Buffett passed away “peacefully” on Friday night, with his family, friends, music, and dogs by his side. TMZ has additionally reported that his cause of death was attributed to skin cancer that had progressed to lymphoma. Jimmy Buffett was 76 years old at the time of his passing.
