Since marrying in July 2021, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been merging their very different lifestyles. Spending more time at Shelton’s tranquil Oklahoma ranch has allowed him to share his slower, more grounded way of life with Stefani, an experience he describes as one of the most significant in their relationship.
The couple divides their time between Los Angeles and Oklahoma, often retreating to the ranch for family moments, fresh air, and a break from city life. Growing up in Southern California, Stefani didn’t have many opportunities to connect with nature in the same way. Shelton has enjoyed watching her develop an appreciation for the peacefulness and simplicity of rural life.
“Introducing Gwen to this place has been one of the greatest joys of my life,” Shelton said on the Michael Waddell Podcast. “It’s untamed, beautiful, and completely different from anything she experienced growing up in Southern California.”
He shared a favorite memory from their early days on the ranch, recalling the first time they discovered a creek running through the property. Stefani was astonished that such a serene, natural spot could exist on private land rather than in a national or state park.
“One of the first times I brought her here, she was amazed. She asked, ‘So this is yours?’ and I said, ‘Yes, this is part of the ranch.’ She couldn’t believe you could have a creek or river on your property. She thought anything like this would be part of a public park,” Shelton recounted.
That moment made him realize how many people never get to experience life in the country or enjoy the quiet magic of waking up to wildlife outside their window, far from the noise of the city.
Over time, Stefani has fully embraced ranch life. Shelton notes she enjoys exploring the property, going for walks, and taking in the tranquility away from paparazzi and crowds.
“She’s really embraced it. She loves being outdoors, exercising, and simply enjoying the freedom here. For most of her life, stepping outside meant being photographed. Here, she can just be herself, and she truly values that,” Shelton added.
