Ashley McBryde also remembered accidentally causing a fire in the microwave belonging to Dolly Parton while she was working for the “9 to 5” star.

Ashley McBryde described her time working for Dolly Parton as unforgettable. During a May 13 appearance on BBC Radio 2, McBryde shared that shortly after relocating to Nashville, Parton gifted her a tube of ChapStick that she treasured for nearly 20 years, only using it for especially meaningful moments.

McBryde also recounted a frightening incident involving a microwave fire at Parton’s home, which was undergoing renovations at the time. She explained that smoke from the burning appliance could have damaged the freshly redecorated room, so she quickly unplugged the microwave, carried it outside, and prevented further destruction. According to McBryde, Parton later let her keep the microwave and even offered advice on how to remove the lingering odor.

The interview came shortly after the release of McBryde’s fifth studio album, Wild. Speaking about the project on Instagram earlier this year, the “One Night Standards” singer explained that the album reflects fear, uncertainty, honesty, and the ambitious spirit she has carried since childhood.
