Ashley McBryde is set to release a new album, Wild, a collection of deeply personal songs and impactful storytelling. Along with the announcement, she shared the official tracklist and offered fans a glimpse of what this new chapter holds.
To help listeners get ready for the album’s release next month, here’s a comprehensive look at Wild, including insights into the creative process, standout tracks, and the themes shaping the songs.
The album will drop on May 8 via Warner Records Nashville, marking McBryde’s fifth studio project. Alongside the release date, she revealed the tracklist with the help of her fans.
In the week leading up to the announcement, McBryde mailed 11 unique patches to dedicated fans and members of her official fan club, The Trybe. Each patch contained a passcode and instructions for unlocking the title of one of the songs on Wild. Fans entered the code on McBryde’s website, causing the patch to light up on a jean jacket matching her album cover, revealing the corresponding song title.
Once all 11 patches were collected, the Trybe worked together to unveil the complete album tracklist. Fans could then re-enter their passcodes for early previews of each song.
McBryde co-wrote six tracks and selected five additional songs from outside writers, bringing the total to 11. The Arkansas native explained that in choosing songs for this album, she took a different approach—revisiting tracks she had once considered too raw or candid to release.
Wild came together during a transformative period in McBryde’s life. Despite her success, including 2020’s Never Will, which became one of the few albums to earn Country Album of the Year nominations from the ACM, CMA, and GRAMMY® Awards in the same season, she found herself re-evaluating her artistic direction.
In the process of regaining confidence and moving forward in her career, McBryde returned to songs she had long kept aside—some of which had only been performed live—finally giving them the space to shine on Wild.
