FIRE AFFECTS HOME IN MULESHOE

A fire in the town of Muleshoe has left a home in shambles. The fire also briefly caused some concern at nearby Dillman Elementary School. Muleshoe Superintendent RL Richards said the smoke from the nearby house fire literally inundated the school. So he ordered the 400 students inside the building to be moved to the gymnasium where they could breathe easy. The disruption lasted about 40 minutes, he said. The cause of the fire at 1821 West Avenue D is not yet known.
