One company in Clovis is expanding. Governor Susana Martinez announced that Cummins Incorporated is expanding and creating ten new high-wage manufacturing jobs, and that expansion is being supported by Local Economic Development Act funds, and a City of Clovis Economic Incentive Board grant. According to the governor, when taxes are lowered and incentives are strengthened, companies choose New Mexico, adding that Cummins is staying and growing in New Mexico. Cummins has had operations in Clovis for more than forty years, and is investing $2.5 million in its local operations to add a new remanufacturing disassembly, cleaning and inspection line, and new equipment in addition to expanding its warehouse. Construction began last month and will be fully operational by June of 2019.
