Details:  The Lighthouse Mission needs your help! They are currently in need of kitchen items such as milk, sandwich meats, sandwich bread, and cooking oil. They also need other items like shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, and clothing of all sizes. Please drop donations off at the Lighthouse Mission located at 407 L Casillas Blvd.

12:00 am: Pregnancy Resource Center Needs

Location:  Pregnancy Resource Center, 621 N Main St, Clovis, NM 88101, USA
Details:  The Pregnancy Resource Center is searching for items for their families in need. Due to the contagious nature of COVID-19, they can only accept unopened packages of diapers, wipes, and formula. They also need prepackaged items and easily wiped down toys. If you can help with any of these items please call 935-5433.

Details:  Join the Rooney Moon Broadcasting team for Stay At Home Spirit Week! Each day we will have a different theme and today is CRAZY CHRISTMAS DAY! Dress up in your favorite Christmas attire and share your pictures with us by using the hashtag #StayAtHomeSpiritWeek on social media.

Details:  The New Mexico State Police Department is calling all kids to help them create a coloring book! They are asking kids to help by drawing a picture that represents the department and showcases the child's creativity. Submit artwork to [email protected] and be sure to include the child's name, grade, school, and contact phone number. Entries will be accepted until April 17th at 5pm.

10:00 am: NM Workers Comp Workshop

Location:  Clovis Community College, 417 Schepps Blvd, Clovis, NM 88101, USA
Details:  The State of New Mexico Workers Compensation Administration is hosting a New Mexico Workers Compensation Ombudsman Workshop at Clovis Community College. This workshop will take place from 10-11:30am in Room 101. Anyone involved in a workers injury should attend this free workshop including owners, managers, supervisors, human resources, and safety personnel. RSVP to this workshop by calling 397-3428.

ONGOING EVENTS ON THE HIGH PLAINS

Hope Children’s Home in Clovis is in need of help with their food pantry. Regular needs are fresh fruit and vegetables, sliced bread, & tortillas. Other items needed are toiletries and clothing for children of all ages.


The American Red Cross in Clovis is offering CPR Training. Cost is $45 per person and training can be set to accommodate participant’s schedules. Discounts are available for groups of 12 or more. Certificates will be valid for 2 years. For more information, call 763-4129 for more details.


The GLU Factory is in need of donations of twin bedding, all household items including cleaning supplies and laundry soap, toiletries, towels and other necessities for their residents at the home. They are also in need of men’s large and extra-large clothing (new & gently used). For more details, call 935-4458.


Hartley House in Clovis is in need of donations of pajamas, dolls and trucks for the children staying in the safe house. For more details, call 762-0050.


Arise Sexual Assault Services is in need of donations of new clothing (prefer dark & loose) for both men, women and children in all sizes. They are also in need of new items for the children – stuffed animals, dolls, coloring books, crayons, ect. Other items needed are feminine hygiene products.  For more details, call 226-7263.


The El Desayuno Kiwanis Club in Clovis is conducting their Annual Flag Fundraiser. Cost is $35 per year and flags will be placed at your home or business on 10 occasions throughout the year. For more details, contact Jim at 762-7850.


Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails is seeking role models and volunteers to assist with the program. These roles include; Troop Family and Friends, Troop Leader/Co-Leader, Service Unit Volunteers, Cookie Volunteers and Event/Program Volunteers. The Curry County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program are currently seeking volunteers to share their time, experience, talent and knowledge within the communities. Volunteers must be 55 years of age and older. Hours are flexible and there are a number of volunteer opportunities. For more details, call 763-6009 or email [email protected]


The Community Services Center in Portales is currently in need of donations for the CSC Food Pantry. Donations may be dropped off at the center located at 1100 Community Way. For more details, call 356-8576 ext. 10.


The Pregnancy Resource Center offers a program called “Earn While You Learn” for their clients. The program allows new and expectant parents to participate in prenatal, newborn care and parenting classes through the center. Through this, they earn “Baby Bucks” to spend in the Baby Boutique. The center is currently in need of the following items to help stock the Baby Boutique; diapers, wipes, baby clothes, formula, baby food, bottles, blankets, toys, crib (new and used – must meet current safety standards), crib sheets, Pack & Play (new and used), car seats (must be new), Baby carriers/slings and CATS Bus passes. Matt 25 offers Anger Management classes on Thursday at 6pm weekly. This 8 week course is $150 and can be entered at anytime. Matt 25 also offers a 9 week Parenting Class for $180. This course requires sign up so please contact Matt 25 to do so.

Life Skills Classes are 24 weeks long and go deep into different life skills and how to deal with issues. The cost is based on income and has a sliding scale. You must sign up in advance for this course. For more information, check out lifeskillsclovis.com or call 935-4411.
